The NorTent Ly 1 is a one-person, four-season tunnel tent. Lightweight yet exceptionally durable, it’s the perfect trekking companion. Ly 1 is designed for the solo hiker who needs a spacious, reliable, and easy-to-carry shelter for long adventures in the mountains and wilderness. Its aerodynamic shape and Dyneema® reinforcements make it a tent you can trust against the elements – whether it’s storm winds, heavy rain, or snow load.

The Ly 1 is a clean-lined tunnel tent that pitches in just 3–4 minutes. The two-pole structure keeps weight low while still offering excellent stability. This makes the Ly 1 an ideal choice for long-distance hikers who need a reliable yet lightweight shelter. The tent offers two spacious vestibules, perfect for storing your backpack, boots, and cooking gear – and large enough for cooking as well. The inner tent is sized for a 190 × 65 cm sleeping pad and gear. Inside, four storage pockets keep small items organized. On warm days, the doors can be left open with just the mosquito net, while in cold weather they can be sealed to retain warmth.

Openness and flexibility:
The Ly 1 has three entrances, all of which can be fully opened. In addition, one full side can be opened to bring the outdoors into your shelter. In heavy rain or wind, the structure’s design keeps you protected even with the doors open. The inner tent can also be removed, allowing you to use only the fly as a lightweight tarp-like shelter, for example by the campfire.

Ventilation and condensation control:
The Ly 1 has two large vents at both ends plus four adjustable entrances, creating highly effective airflow. The upper vents double as small canopies in rain, so the entrances can remain partly open without water entering. This keeps you dry while maintaining fresh air inside.

Reinforced construction and double poles:
All critical areas are reinforced with Dyneema®. The pole sleeves are made from thicker, more durable fabric that distributes wind forces evenly across the poles. This reduces the risk of tearing and improves storm resistance. For demanding conditions, the Ly 1 supports double pole setup (optional), greatly increasing stability in harsh weather.

Modular – part of the Ly system. The standout feature of the Ly series is its modularity and compatibility:

• Connect two Ly 1 tents to create a Ly 2 configuration.
• Ly 2 and Ly 3 can be combined into a five-person tent with two separate sleeping areas.
• Three Ly tents can be linked together, with the middle tent serving as a cooking or living space.
• Ly 1 can be connected to a Ly 2, functioning as a large vestibule.

The possibilities are nearly endless – with Ly tents you can build exactly the setup your group needs by connecting them together.

Seam sealing:
The fabric is waterproof, but as with all silnylon tents, the seams are not factory sealed. A one-time silicone seam sealing is recommended to make the structure 100% waterproof and long-lasting.

Pitching and maintenance:
The Ly 1 is quick and simple to pitch, but it’s important to follow a few basic rules:

• Do not leave the fabric drum-tight – overstretching can damage the material.
• Adjust tension during the day as temperature and humidity change.
• Make sure all pole sections are fully connected.
