Helikon-Tex Chinook Jacket is a lightweight technical shell designed for demanding outdoor use in changing weather conditions. It offers reliable protection against rain and wind while remaining breathable enough for active movement.

The jacket uses a 2.5-layer waterproof membrane that provides a strong barrier against moisture. With a 20,000 mm waterproof rating, the Chinook keeps rain and wind outside while allowing internal moisture to escape through the membrane. This balance of protection and breathability makes it suitable for hiking, shooting range use, outdoor activities, and general field use.

A breathability rating of 20,000 g/m²/24h ensures that heat and moisture generated by the body can dissipate efficiently. Underarm ventilation zippers provide additional airflow when needed, helping maintain comfort during physical activity.

The construction includes fully taped seams, preventing water from entering through critical areas. A two-way YKK® main zipper, combined with a Prym snap fastener, provides a secure closure and allows convenient adjustment while moving.

The outer fabric features a PFC-free DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment, which improves water repellency and helps reduce dirt accumulation. This coating slows down moisture absorption and helps maintain the jacket’s performance in wet conditions. The treatment can be renewed periodically with appropriate impregnation products.

With a weight of approximately 400 g (size L), the Chinook Jacket functions as a lightweight protective outer layer for hiking, bushcraft, shooting range activities, and everyday outdoor use. It is designed primarily for wet and windy conditions in temperatures between roughly -5 °C and +10 °C.
