The NorTent Vern 1 is a four-season, one-person tent. Your reliable shelter when the weather shows no mercy. Vern 1 is designed for the solo hiker who needs a durable, stable, and easy-to-pitch tent for long treks, wilderness adventures, and mountain crossings. The tent’s aerodynamic shape and multiple guy-out points keep it steady in storm winds, and the structure is reinforced with Dyneema® – the world’s strongest fiber. Easy to pitch, quick refuge:
With a bit of practice, the Vern 1 can be set up in just 2–3 minutes. Its shape is streamlined, with no unnecessary straps or complications. When the wind whistles and rain lashes down, you can quickly crawl into the warmth of your sleeping bag.

Ventilation makes the difference:
In a tightly sealed four-season tent, ventilation is the greatest challenge. Vern 1 is equipped with three separate vents: two lower vents at each end bring in fresh air, and one vent above the entrance lets moisture escape. The top vent also acts as a small canopy in rain, allowing you to keep the entrance open without water running inside.

Room for your gear:
For a one-person tent, the Vern 1 offers a generously sized vestibule. Backpack, boots, and gear fit easily, and there’s room for cooking as well. The inner tent is sized for a 190 × 60 cm sleeping pad plus gear. On hot days, the doors can be left open with only the mosquito net closed, while on cold days everything can be sealed tight to preserve warmth.

Adapts to nature:
On beautiful days, you can open the entire side of the tent and let nature inside. In rain, you can keep the entrance partially closed and still stay dry. The tent is designed to remain flexible and functional regardless of the weather.

Reinforced construction – built for storms:
All stress points are reinforced with strong fabric patches that distribute wind forces across a wider area. This reduces the risk of tearing and makes the structure exceptionally durable. In addition, the tent supports double pole setup: you can place two poles side by side, creating a much stronger frame for severe winds and heavy snow loads.

Seam sealing:
The tent fabric itself is fully waterproof, but as with all silnylon tents, the seams are not factory sealed. It is recommended to perform a one-time silicone seam sealing yourself, making the structure 100% waterproof. This solution is more durable than the PU seam taping commonly used. A silicone tube is included for this purpose.

Pitching and maintenance:
The Vern 1 goes up in 2–3 minutes with practice. Silnylon is a “living” material that stretches and contracts depending on temperature and humidity. For this reason, tension should be adjusted during the day:

1. Never leave the fabric too tight (“drum-tight” can overstretch it).
2. Release tension if temperature or humidity changes.
3. Make sure all pole sections click fully into place – this prevents unnecessary breakage.
