The NorTent Ly 3 is a three-person, four-season tunnel tent. When your group needs space, durability, and flexibility, this is the shelter to trust. Designed for long treks and wilderness expeditions where reliability is key, the spacious Ly 3 offers comfort for three people with gear – and if needed, it can even fit four in a tighter setup. Its aerodynamic shape and Dyneema® reinforcements make the Ly 3 a secure refuge when the weather turns unpredictable.

Thanks to its tunnel design, the Ly 3 can be pitched in 3–4 minutes once practiced. The three-pole structure brings stability while keeping the weight reasonable. Both poles and fabric come in separate carry bags, making it easy to divide the weight between two or three hikers on long trips. The tent includes two large vestibules, offering plenty of space for backpacks, boots, and cooking. The inner tent is sized for three 190 × 60 cm sleeping pads, with extra room for gear. Four internal storage pockets keep small items organized. On hot days, the doors can be left open with only the mosquito net closed, while in cold weather they can be sealed tight to preserve warmth.

Openness and flexibility:
The Ly 3 has four entrances, all of which can be fully opened. Both sides can also be rolled completely up, turning the tent into an open shelter – nature comes inside while you remain protected from rain and wind. The inner tent can be removed, allowing the flysheet alone to be used as a tarp-like shelter, for example by the campfire.

Ventilation and condensation control:
The Ly 3 features two large vents at the ends plus four entrances that function as additional ventilation. The upper vents also act as small canopies in the rain, allowing doors to be left partly open.

Reinforced construction and double poles:
The pole sleeves are made from thicker, more durable fabric that distributes wind forces evenly along the entire pole. This reduces the risk of tearing and improves storm resistance. For extreme conditions, the Ly 3 supports double pole setup (optional), making the structure even more stable under heavy snow or violent storms.

Modular – part of the Ly system. Ly tents are compatible and can be combined in different ways:

• Ly 2 + Ly 3 -> five-person tent with two sleeping areas.
• Three Ly tents -> the middle tent can serve as a shared kitchen or living space.
• Ly 1 + Ly 2 -> Ly 1 functions as a large vestibule.

The possibilities are nearly endless – you can build a basecamp configuration tailored to your group’s needs.

Seam sealing:
The flysheet is waterproof, but the seams are not factory sealed. A one-time silicone seam sealing is recommended to make the tent completely waterproof and far more durable than PU seam taping.

Pitching and maintenance:
The Ly 3 is quick to pitch, but a few tips will extend its life:

• Do not leave the fabric drum-tight – silnylon stretches and contracts with humidity and temperature.
• Adjust tension during the day as conditions change.
• Make sure all pole sections click properly into place – this prevents breakage.
