Helikon-Tex Chinook Jacket is a lightweight yet high-performance shell jacket designed for situations where weather conditions can change quickly and gear must function reliably. The jacket provides effective protection from rain and wind while maintaining good breathability during active movement.

The Chinook features a 2.5-layer membrane construction that offers high waterproofness and breathability. A 20,000 mm waterproof rating keeps rain and wind out, while the membrane allows body moisture to escape. This makes the jacket a practical choice for hiking, shooting range use, outdoor activities, and versatile field use in changing weather conditions.

The jacket’s water vapor permeability of 20,000 g/m²/24h means moisture can escape efficiently even during intense activity. Combined with underarm ventilation zippers, this helps regulate body temperature and prevents overheating.

The seams are fully taped, preventing water from entering through critical points. A durable two-way YKK® main zipper, together with a Prym snap fastener, ensures a secure closure and allows easy adjustment while moving.

The outer fabric is protected by a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating, which repels water and dirt while slowing down fabric saturation. The coating is PFC-free, making it a more environmentally responsible choice. The treatment should be renewed periodically with a suitable impregnating agent to maintain its performance.

With a weight of approximately 400 g (size L), the Chinook Jacket is designed as a lightweight protective outer layer for hiking, shooting range use, bushcraft, and everyday outdoor activities in wet conditions from approximately -5 °C to +10 °C.

The Chinook shell jacket features practical pockets and equipment points. Hook-and-loop adjustable cuffs and a drawcord at the hem and waist help adjust the fit and keep wind and rain out. The jacket is also highly compact: it can be packed into its hood, allowing it to fit easily into a backpack. A separate carry bag is also included. Hook-and-loop panels on the shoulders allow patches and insignia to be attached.
