Helikon-Tex Possum Waist Pack is a compact 2.3-liter waist pack for carrying EDC gear, a phone, documents, and other small essentials in an organized way. It is clearly a small-sized bag, but the interior space is used efficiently, allowing you to carry a surprising amount of gear without the unnecessary bulk of a larger waist pack.

Possum works well for everyday use, travel, hiking, work, or as an addition to a larger gear setup. Your essentials stay close to the body and quickly accessible without having to fill your pockets to the limit.

Small on the outside, functional on the inside

The main compartment has room for items such as gloves, a multitool, power bank, flashlight, or other everyday essentials. An internal organizer helps keep smaller items in their own places, preventing the contents from turning into one loose pile while moving.

There is also a separate, more discreet pocket on the body side for items such as a phone, cash, or documents. Its position helps keep the contents under better control, especially in crowds or while travelling.

Cordura® 500D withstands active use

The main material of the Possum is durable Cordura® 500D nylon. It is well suited for use where the bag is constantly in contact with clothing, equipment, vehicle interiors, or the ground.

The material has a DWR treatment that reduces the absorption of water and dirt into the fabric. The bag is not completely waterproof, but the treatment provides additional protection in light rain and makes the surface easier to clean.

The zippers are made by YKK®, while the key plastic components are manufactured by Woojin®. These are familiar components in equipment designed for regular and demanding use.

Several carrying options

Possum can be used as a traditional waist pack with the included strap. The strap can also be removed, allowing the bag to be attached directly to a trouser belt or, for example, the hip belt of a backpack.

The external MOLLE/PALS-compatible webbing allows an additional pouch or other compatible equipment to be attached. The same construction also makes Possum suitable as part of a larger equipment setup.

A loop panel on the front provides space for a morale patch, name patch, or other hook-and-loop-backed identifier.

Who is Possum for?

Possum is a good choice when ordinary pockets start becoming too crowded but there is no need for a larger waist pack. The 2.3-liter capacity is well suited for essential EDC gear, while the compact dimensions keep the setup agile and unobtrusive during movement.

If you need to carry a lot of clothing, a water bottle, or other bulky equipment, a larger bag is a better choice. The strength of Possum is specifically in organizing a small everyday gear load and keeping it quickly accessible.
