The Direct Action Minimalist Backpack is a lightweight and compact 20-liter tactical backpack designed for carrying only the essential gear. It offers enough space for water, food rations, extra clothing, a helmet and optoelectronics without the bulk and weight of a larger combat pack.

The removable stiffener makes the backpack more versatile. With the stiffener installed, the pack maintains its structure, while removing it allows the backpack to be folded down and used as a lightweight backup or bug out backpack.

Practical 18-liter main compartment

The 18-liter main compartment includes a large sleeve for the removable stiffener together with an attachment point for a hydration bladder. A smaller zippered pocket at the top can be accessed directly from the outside and is ideal for frequently needed small items.

Two zippered side pockets provide additional storage. Each pocket can hold up to three AR magazines or two .308 magazines, but they can also be used for water bottles or other equipment that needs to remain quickly accessible.

Dedicated storage for optics and helmet

The Minimalist features a dedicated pocket for optoelectronics such as night vision devices, together with a paracord loop for securing the equipment. The front zippered pocket also includes an internal securing loop.

Elastic cord on the front allows the backpack to be compressed when carrying a smaller load. When additional carrying capacity is needed, the integrated stowable beavertail can be deployed for carrying a helmet, camouflage net or other bulky equipment.

Drainage holes in the main compartment and side pockets allow water and moisture to escape in wet conditions.

Is the Direct Action Minimalist suitable as a daypack?
