Cast iron pots has been used since the 17 hundreds, and since they are still in use despite newer materials have become more common, they must perform perfectly. Dutch Oven Petromax FT3 is from the small end of Petromax pots with capacity of 1.8-liter. Flat bottomed Petromax pot is suitable to put into the oven, but also for cooking over an open fire.

Cast iron has excellent qualitys for heat distributing and storing. Petromax pots are pre seasoned, so you can use this directly out from the box. The pot's lid has raised edges, so when cooking with open fire you can lift embers on top of it to give even more steady heat distribution. The pot's handle is very stabile and there's a hole on the side of the pot for thermometer, so you can check the temperature without lifting the lid. The benefits of the cast iron cover is that you can use the cover as a skillet.
