When you want to cook more than just sausages on a stick over the campfire, a simple grill grate makes life considerably easier. Origin Outdoors Folding Grill is a folding camping grill made of 304 stainless steel that can be set up in just a few moments and folded almost flat for transport.

The grill is available in two sizes: Basic is a lightweight and compact option for one or two users, while Large offers twice the grilling surface for larger groups and bigger portions of food.

Basic or Large?

Basic is well suited for situations where pack size and low weight are important. Its 29 × 22 cm grilling surface has room for, for example, two generously sized steaks or several sausages at a time, and at only 320 grams the grill is easy to carry with the rest of your outdoor gear.

Large is the bigger brother of the Basic model. Its 44 × 29 cm grilling surface provides approximately twice as much space and, according to the manufacturer, is sufficient for up to four large steaks or a similar amount of other barbecue food. It is better suited for families, groups of friends or longer stays at camp.

304 stainless steel for campfire use

Both grills are made of 304 stainless steel, which withstands heat, moisture and normal outdoor use well. The construction is intentionally simple: no unnecessary mechanisms, no loose parts to assemble and no complicated structures that are difficult to clean.

The rounded edges and corners make the grill easier to handle and reduce the risk of the metal parts catching on other gear during transport.

Folds flat for transport

When set up, the Basic is approximately 15 cm high and the Large approximately 16.5 cm high. The legs raise the grilling surface to a suitable height above the embers or fire and make the construction stable even on slightly uneven ground.

After use, the legs fold into the frame, turning the grill into a package only around 3.5 cm thick. Basic is clearly the lighter option for a backpack or compact camping setup, while Large offers a larger grilling surface in exchange for greater weight and pack size.
