Wool was the choice of many pioneers of past times for wilderness and adventures. Accessories made of wool have been used for hundreds of years, they are simple, ecological and functional piece of clothing for almost year-round use. Our anorak is densely knitted sheep's wool (94%), combined with a small amount of nylon (6%) and weighs 460 g/m2. Soft, but sturdy woolen fabric, keeps you warm even when it's damp and can withstand sitting around campfires, where sparks may fly.

The Kootamo Wool anorak is very generously sized, the idea is that you can fit layers underneath and even a jacket - you can look at the size charts according to your own needs, but as a rule of thumb, take 1 size smaller than what you would normally take. In this case, you can still fit a decent baselayer and also a light jacket underneath. If you want a tighter fit and you know there won't be much layering underneath, go 2 sizes smaller than normal.

The oversize hood can be tightened with cords and the inside of the hood there is a teddy lining made of polyester, keeps the head warm and comfortable, also works with hats if wearing some. The soft teddy lining is soft to the face, bare wool can bite bare skin, so that's why the soft inner lining. Large neckline with YKK zipper and easy-to-use Canadian slotted -style buttons that stay securely in place, with which you attach a flap in front of the zipper if necessary. A warming pocket for your hands at chest height, also a soft teddy lining inside - this pocket is open both ends - in addition, on the outer surface of the chest area, there is a webbing with MOLLE/PALS standard, to which you can attach one compatible pouch - or you can hang from the loops with a carabiner, for example gloves, etc. within easy reach.

Below on sides, there are deep side pockets, where you can carry all the other necessary items for the day. Elastic drawstring at the hem, you can tuck the anorak tightly around the hips. Velcro adjustments on the cuffs. The belt shown in the pictures is not included. The belt is a separately purchased product. However, with this anorak, you should also think about the belt, with it you can snug the outfit and at the same time can wear different accessories with the belt. If you choose a belt with the Anorak, take one that's maybe a little longer than the normal belt, it's worn on the outside and around the belly or hip height. See the model in the pictures.

Wool is an excellent choice as an outer garment for outdoors, it has natural antimicrobial properties, so it doesn't start to smell even with longer use. After use, just hang the garment for awhile (best if you have outside area where you can hang), it is usually enough - washing is less necessary. If you have to wash when you get poo on your sleeve, then follow these simple instructions: Hand wash with a detergent suitable for wool and dry lay flat. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.

I was looking for a wool anorak for my bushcraft activities. I found many of these, but this particular one was very interesting to me because it looked very solid and the price was also interesting. Many of the anoraks on offer are too expensive for what they offer. This Kootamo Wool Anorak offers very sturdy material and a good sewquality.

the bags are big enough to carry much useful things. The loops in the front are for carrying gloves or little bags with a carabiners. The extra leather belt is of very good quality. All in all this anorak is very impressive, because you get good quality for a nice price!
